The scene depicts the successful rehabilitation of an orang-utan in the reserve of Tanjung Putting in Borneo, following a trip I made in 2018. The orang-utan collects fruits directly from the trees rather than from the feeding platforms and this is a sign that the rehab is successful. This is a message of hope and victory over the palm oil industry that is tapping into the natural habitat of orang-utans. On left and right side of the painting, users of palm oil are vanishing in smoke.
