As part of a larger series called Imagination of Salvation, I hand knotted a fishing net and took it to the Eastern Desert of Jordan--in Al Azraq, which means "the blue" in Arabic. I used to the net to catch stones, symbolizing the plight of drought that the region is facing as the underground aquifer is pumped for human and agricultural consumption. This work is meant to make the viewer reflect on how we use water and other natural resources.
