Embrace

Embrace

description

"The sea cradles the entire Eco-system that exists within; water becomes part of a beautiful dance embracing Earth in the harmonious continuation of life." Embrace was inspired by local marine life and contains some plastics collected locally from a beach clean up. The project is especially close to Ms. Ganz as she had envisioned whales spiraling up to surface in a dance of life. In being awarded the commission, she was able to fulfill this desire. "Embrace" challenged her abilities as it is her largest solo sculpture to date. The sculpture was designed specifically for the two-story atrium. Ms. Ganz hopes visitors and the community can connect to protecting the ocean through public art. She hopes it stimulates the imagination in looking at mundane objects differently; finding the beauty in every day things. Her art is spontaneous and intuitive very much like the dance within our Eco-systems.
