description
Bruny is multichannel video and generative sound installation about perspective, privilege and place, created from a month-long artist residency on Bruny Island, Australia. Trumpet and flugelhorn recordings from inside the Cape Bruny Lighthouse, nature field recordings, oral histories of longtime residents, bells, crotales and biodata recordings from native plants are fed through a generative system to create a never-ending, ever-different sound installation accompanied by hours of video footage distributed across three continuously looping screens.
