Found object assemblage. Like most of my sculptures, I hope to bring attention to the ways in which society relates to objects, in particular plastic. This is part of a series of sculptures using bright colors found in both commercial products and specifically children’s toys. I believe that advertising single-use products to lids creates a life-long depende on plastic as we integrate these objects into our visual languages and often feel a strong sense of nostalgia around them-which, of course, shapes what we seek out and consume as adults. We treat these items as disposable, although they will outlive us.
