Maria Constanza Ferreira (b. 1994, Caracas, Venezuela) is an artist practicing across a range of media including video, photography, and installation. Utilizing unique scientific visualization techniques, Ferreira’s work magnifies patterns found in nature. In 2019, Ferreira progressed her work with crystallography and materials science in a unique year long Artist-in-Residency in a chemistry laboratory at the Kahr Research Group within New York University. She is currently an Artist-in-Residence at the Santa Barbara Center for Art, Science and Technology (SBCAST). Ferreira earned her BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design as a double major in Film/ Animation/Video and Graphic Design. Her work has showcased internationally at places such as Times Square's Midnight Moment, MoMA PS1, Exploratorium Museum of Science, Art and Human Perception, Slamdance Film Festival, IndieLisboa, the Imagine Science Film Festival, São Paulo Museum of Image and Sound, and the SFO Museum.
